TRS 2nd Annual Skijoring Day

 DIVISONS 

For Sprint and Team Relay events, should the youngest team member be 12 years of age or younger, the team is entered into the Youth Division.  There is only one division for Cowboy Curling, no matter the age of team members.

 

 EQUIPMENT 

Event participants will supply their own horse(s), all necessary tack and riding/skiing gear including helmet(s).  While we encourage all participants to wear helmets, it is MANDATORY for participants 12 years and under to wear a helmet as a rider or skier.  NO EXCEPTIONS!

 

TRS will supply all pull ropes and tubes.
 

 FEES 

$40/team/event.  Entries and payments must be received in full on/before February 10, 2024 11:59PM. Accepted method of payment is cash or etransfer to:  accounting@timberriverstation.com .  Please Include Contact Name in comments of etransfer!  Funds must be paid in full to participate in event(s). Entry forms emailed to info@timberriverstation.com or dropped off with payment to Timber River Station.

 

 EVENTS 

• SPRINT (1 horse, 1 rider, 1 skier) adult and youth divisions.

  • Team consists of horse, rider and one skier.

  • Time begins when the skiers boots (both) cross the start line.

  • Time stops when the skiers boots (both) cross the finish line.

  • 2 teams will compete against each other at a time.

  • Best time overall times win 1st - 3rd place.

• TEAM RELAY (1 horse, 1 rider, 3 skiers) adult & youth divisions.

  • Team consists of horse, rider and 3 skiers.

  • Time begins when the first skier’s boots (both) cross the start line.

  • Time stops when the last (3rd) skier’s boots cross the finish line.

  • Horse and rider with first skier will race down the course, turn around and race back to hand off rope to 2nd skier.  Horse and rider will proceed to do the race route again until all skiers have completed the course.  All three skiers must complete the course for the race to count.

  • Best overall times win 1st - 3rd place.

 

• COWBOY CURLING (1 horse, 1 rider, 3 tubers)

  • Team consists of horse, rider and 3 tubers.

  • 2 teams compete against each other per curling game.  Which team curls first will be pre-determined by a coin toss. 

  • Teams will alternate throws until there are no remaining tubers.  Team with tube closest to the button are awarded 1 point for each tube closest to the center than any of the opposing team’s tubes. 

  • Dependant on the number of Teams entering this event, will determine how the round robin will proceed.  More details to come.

Check in opens 9:15AM

Sprint 10AM – 12 NOON                         Campfires (and smores) all day

Relay 12:30 – 2:30PM                             Concession 10AM – 4PM

Cowboy Curling 3-4PM                           Beer Gardens 12PM – 6PM
